Opening Concert October 24, 2015

Erika Anglin and Dr. Karen Beluso are returning to perform for the Beacon Music Series. This concert will be performed in the Beautiful Church of St. Patrick in Glen Cove on Saturday, October 24th at 6:30 PM.
Originally from Pensacola, Erika Anglin is a graduate of Boston University with a Master of Music in Voice Performance.   Since the age of 16, when she traveled to Spain with her high school choir, she has had the opportunity to perform in interesting venues all over the eastern United States, as well as Austria, Italy, France and Holland.  She has enjoyed many diverse projects over the years, including soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah for the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus, the title role in Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience, and the 2012 blues opera concept album 'Une Chanson d'Amour, as the lead female vocalist, for which she was praised for her 'angelic voice' in a rave review (N.E.Francis/ Examiner.com) Locally, she has sung at the Glen Cove Senior Center, Sunrise Senior Living and the Atria in Roslyn. She also sings as a cantor for several churches throughout the diocese. Currently she and her husband live in Glen Cove with their two dogs.

Glen Cove resident and pianist, Dr. Karen M. Beluso, is a graduate of The Juilliard School, made her Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Youth Symphony. Her other orchestral appearances include the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony Orchestra. She has performed extensively in solo recitals and given master classes in Costa Rica, Switzerland, California, Florida, Massachusetts, and the tri-state area. As a collaborative pianist, she has appeared on the Belz-Parker Artist Ascending Concert Series in Memphis, TN, on the St. Patrick's on the Hill Beacon Music Series and has performed with violinist Jourdan Urbach, exclusively. At present, Dr. Beluso is the Institutional Sales Manager for Steinway & Sons, has been on the faculties of the Portledge School (Locust Valley, NY), the C.W. Post Summer Chamber Music Festival and maintains a private teaching studio in Glen Cove, NY.
Erika and Karen have chosen Classical and Sacred selections. The program is most fitting within the acoustically "live" stone and marble sanctuary of St. Patrick's Church. Their performance will conclude with a wine and chocolate reception in the Parish Hall.
